1.
Do you shoot alone or is there a second photographer? 2. Do you shoot using film or digital? My most recent wedding photo shoots have been done entirely in digital. Recent developments in image quality have made digital photography much more desirable and economical. Even with a 6 megapixel camera, large sized prints up to 12"x16" can be made without compromising on quality. 3. Do you shoot Black and White? Yes. I actually prefer B&W film. However, with the advent of technology, it's really more economical to shoot digital. Coloured images can easily be converted to B&W. With digital, sepia-coloured images or spot coloured images can be made easily upon requests, too. These images can then be printed on Matte, colour or B&W paper depending on choice. The bottom line is: I can shoot on B&W film, but I do not print them myself. So the cost of developing prints for B&W is extra. My recommendation: Go digital. 4. Do you do more than one wedding in a day? No, I can't be at two different places at the same time can I? If I am unable to cover your wedding, I will surely inform you and offer an alternative solution to help meet your wedding needs. 5. Do you do a wedding that runs into two or more days? Yes, but there will be a surcharge added accordingly. 6. Do you travel out of town or to other countries? I am primarily based in Selangor. But upon requests I will make the necessary arrangements to cover your wedding at a location of your choice. This will incur additional costs for my travel and accomodation expenses. 7. Do you go to the bride's or groom's house prior to the wedding? Yes, I do travel to the brides house to photograph the bride and family, the ceremony or events that happen there prior to the wedding, and the bride leaving the house. Here's where a second photographer comes in handy. With two photographers, we can be at both the groom's and bride's house to document all that happens in their respective homes. Again, this depends on your needs and wants. 8. Do you allow other people to take photos of the wedding? Yes. It's your wedding! I won't stop your family and friends from taking pictures as long as they do not become a hinderance to me. But frankly, why do they need to take pictures when you're hiring a professional photographer? 9. Who keeps the negatives? When images are photographed using film, ALL the negatives will be passed back to you. When I shoot digitally, CDs or DVDs will be given to you. You may make additional prints from the negatives, CDs or DVDs at any time. 10.
Do
you provide albums? Another
popular choice these days is to produce custom made coffee table books.
This is available from Photobook
Malaysia. 11. Do you do album designs? Yes. As of 2006, I do provide Wedding Albums with specially designed pages. I currently offer two options for the custom designed Wedding Albums.
12. Do you print your own photographs? No. I use professional processing labs. All the images I send to the processing lab will be looked at and digitally touched-up to enhance the image. This is to provide you with the best results. The prints will be made on Kodak Royal paper. It is generally more costly, but I believe your wedding pictures deserve the best quality processing available. The image files containing the touch-up images, and according to the size of the prints ordered, will be released to you upon final payment for prints is made. 13. How much do the prints you make cost? Because of the digital touch-ups and enhancements, the prints I make carry a premium price:
Since all negatives and files of hi-resolution non-touched up images will be given to you, you may choose to use a lab you are comfortable with. You may even opt to print your own images at home. Do take note that I will not be doing any digital image touch ups if I am not asked to provide the prints. 14. How do you work out your prices? I aim to provide the highest quality at an affordable and fair price. There is a basic service fee that I charge; (part of this money goes into books and equipment that helps me to further improve my art.). On top of that, I work out the budget by listening to your needs and requests. I calculate the amount of time spent on the wedding, time spent on preparation, and the cost of developing the photographs, the need of a 2nd photographer, and so on and so forth. 15. Who owns the rights of the images/photographs? I follow the common rule that the photographer shall retain exclusive rights to use the photographs for any commercial or non-commercial purposes. You may use the photos for any non-commercial purpose only.
